catherine eaton: actor, filmmaker, director, writer, producer

Catherine is an award-winning actor who has performed internationally in classical and new works. She is a film director and script writer, having directed the 17-minute short film THE SOUNDING starring Frankie Faison (HBO’s The Wire, Banshee) in its final stages of post. Catherine is currently in early post-production on her feature film directorial debut, LIV, a screenplay she co-wrote with Bryan Delaney based on her stage play, CORSETLESS. The film stars Harris Yulin (Scarface, Place Beyond the Pines), Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex), and Faison, and Catherine plays the role of Olivia. The feature is being produced by Braxton Pope (Shrink, The Canyons) and Caitlin Gold (Imagine I’m Beautiful).

Catherine’s recent stage work includes Broadway: MTC (Snow Geese with Mary Louise Parker), Carnegie Hall (Corsetless, The Bohemians); Off-Bway: Origin Theatre (Clocks and Whistles); Regional: Pittsburgh Public Theater (Electra, title role), Guthrie Theatre (Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar, Importance of Being Earnest, Venetian Twins, A Christmas Carol), Fulton Opera House (August: Osage County, Michael Archangel), Merrimack Rep (The Exceptionals), Irish Classical Theatre (Hedda Gabler, Moon for the Misbegotten, The Cobbler), New Jersey Rep (Child’s Guide to Innocence) and Gino DiIorio’s Reparation, which opened at Luna Stage in NJ and is moving Off-Bway in the fall of 2015 with Catherine attached.  Television: “Person of Interest,” “All My Children,” “Sex and the City.”  Film: LIV, The Sounding, Training Day, The Collaboration, Last Seen, Miss Bertram’s Awakening, Showers of Happiness, With or Without You.

Awards: Katharine Cornell for acting, Field Report for writing, Emmy Award for production, IRNE nominee for acting, NYFA Recipient, Lotta M Crabtree Recipient, Assets for Artists Recipient. A member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA, NYWIFT, and Film Fatales (a prestigious collective of U.S. directors). She wrote and performs the solo-show, CORSETLESS, which has toured internationally and is being adapted for film.

Catherine is a founding partner of the production house, Stir – a multi-disciplinary production house. She has produced two short films and one feature length film, including the award-winning short Showers of Happiness, written by Carol Todd, developmental and fully-realized theatrical productions, and a monthly salon series in the Penthouse of the Roger Smith Hotel in Manhattan.  Catherine also free-lances as a producer/field producer for clients such as Madison Square Garden, NBC, Radio City Music Hall, and others.
