Catherine is a part Native-American New York-based director, writer, producer and actor. She directed the 17-minute short film THE SOUNDING starring Frankie Faison (HBO’s The Wire, Banshee, Luke Cage) which is in its final stages of post.
Catherine is also in post-production on her feature film directorial debut based on that short, also called THE SOUNDING, co-written with Bryan Delaney. LIV stars Harris Yulin (Scarface, Place Beyond the Pines), Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex, upcoming 24:Legacy), Erin Darke (upcoming: Good Girls Revolt) and Faison (reprising his role from the short), Tony-winners Danny Burstein and David Furr, and Catherine plays the role of Olivia. The feature is being produced by Eaton alongside Caitlin Gold (Lionsgate, Imagine I’m Beautiful) and Jessica Vale (NBC, Small Small Thing), and was shot by David Kruta (Sundance’s Concussion, ICG Emerging Cinematographers Award) with an amazing crew. The script was short-listed for the Sundance LABs, Cinereach, and the Sloan Awards.
Catherine is currently developing two original content series for television, the half-hour edgy comedy ON THE OUTS and the hour-long dramatic series HUNTING GROUND, both finalists for the Sundance Labs.
Catherine’s recent stage work includes Broadway: MTC (Snow Geese with Mary Louise Parker), Carnegie Hall (Corsetless, The Bohemians); Off-Bway: Origin Theatre (Clocks and Whistles); Regional: Pittsburgh Public Theater (Electra, title role), Guthrie Theatre (Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar, Importance of Being Earnest, Venetian Twins, A Christmas Carol), Fulton Opera House (August: Osage County, Michael Archangel), Merrimack Rep (The Exceptionals), Irish Classical Theatre (Hedda Gabler, Moon for the Misbegotten, The Cobbler), New Jersey Rep (Child’s Guide to Innocence) and Gino DiIorio’s Reparation, which opened at Luna Stage in NJ and is moving Off-Bway in the fall of 2015 with Catherine attached. Catherine wrote and performs the solo-show, CORSETLESS, which has toured internationally and was optioned for film.
Awards: Catherine shares and Emmy Award with the team of Bloomberg Televisions “Deadly Brew: The Human Toll of Ethanol.” She has also been awarded a Katharine Cornell for acting, a Field Report for writing, an IRNE nominee for acting, a Lotta M Crabtree Grant, an Assets for Artists Grant, a SAG collaboration award, and NYFA support.
Catherine is a founding partner of the production house, Stir – a multi-disciplinary production house. She has produced two short films and one feature length film (including the award-winning short Showers of Happiness written by Carol Todd), developmental and fully-realized theatrical productions, and a floating monthly salon series in venues across Manhattan. Catherine has also free-lanced as a producer/field producer for clients such as Madison Square Garden, NBC, Radio City Music Hall, and others.
Catherine studied at Cornell University and holds an MFA from University of MN/Guthrie, as well as a conservatory degree from Mountview in London. She is on the leadership team of the female director’s collective Film Fatales and is a member of SAG/AFTRA, AEA and NYWIFT.
